Preston Premium Wines has been a family owned and operated winery since it’s beginning in the 1970’s.  S.W. (Bill) and Joann Preston turned their hobby of enjoying fine wines into a family business that has been passed down to their children and recently grandchildren.

Bill and Joann are known as pioneers in the Washington wine industry when they planted their then 50-acre vineyard in 1972-73.  It was increased to 180 acres in 1979, and is currently at 157 acres.  Preston Vineyards is comprised of several European vinifera such as sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, gewürztraminer, white riesling, gamay noir, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, and syrah.  The vineyard site, in Eastern Washington, is an ideal area to grow grapes with its long hot summer days, cool evenings, and access to an irrigation system fueled by the Columbia River.

In 1976, the reality of having a winery facility came to fruition.  Preston Wine Cellars, as it was first known, was the third licensed winery in Washington State.  As the winery evolved, by changing its name to Preston Premium Wines in 1991, so did the state’s wine industry.  Currently, there are 600 + wineries in Washington State.  Washington is second only in wine production to California in the United States.  Its wines are recognized for their quality around the world.

The Preston family and staff invites visitors to stop by their distinctive grounds in which visitors are able to tour the winery, view the vineyards while tasting extraordinary wines, or perhaps picnicking or strolling through the picturesque park.  The beautifully manicured park, which hosts a gazebo, pond, amphitheater and waterfall provides the perfect setting for an outdoor picnic.  For smaller gatherings, such as private parties or dinners, corporate events or private tastings, the tasting room and deck are an option for an outdoor event.  Enjoying spectacular summer sunsets from this view is truly a moment to remember.  In cooler months, the winery can accommodate up to 60 people inside, depending on the event.

We are open daily 10-5:30, closed major holidays.
